Everyday life

A Saturday here tends to centre on the Narroway and Mare Street: a coffee stop, a browse along the independent shops and stalls, then a walk down toward London Fields or one of the smaller local gardens before an evening that might take in a gig or show at the Hackney Empire.

The Learning and Technology Centre brings the library, local archive and museum together in one building, which gives the area a genuine civic focus beyond just retail.
